Job Description:
Unison Systems is looking for a Healthcare Data Analyst for one
of our downtown Denver clients. Candidate will analyze and provide
clinical data expertise that helps the clinical healthcare team
identify health care trends in utilization, health outcomes,
population and disease management. This candidate will also
identify opportunities for data?driven solutions and will translate
business needs into information system requirements.
RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
Communicates well both verbally and in writing, creates accurate
and punctual reports, delivers presentations, shares information
and ideas with others, excellent listening skills
Effectively communicates clinical data with internal teams and
external client committees to present, adopt and implement
measures.
Collaborates with other departments to develop processes to report
on provider and practice performance to support IPA, provider and
practice?level improvements.
Ability to break down problems into smaller components, understand
underlying issues, can simplify and process complex issues,
understand the difference between critical details and unimportant
facts
Understands clinical data requests and has the ability to simplify
process and issues.
Can analyze trends and advise staff on the significance of the data
and drill down to evaluate root causes.
Provides evidence based research and references national guidelines
when recommending clinical interventions and measures.
Automates and documents processes and procedures to standardize
work and provide efficiencies
Seeks out and accepts feedback, is a proactive learner, takes on
tough assignments to improve skills, keeps knowledge and skills up
to date, turns mistakes into learning opportunities
Builds customer confidence, is committed to increasing customer
satisfaction, sets achievable customer expectations, assumes
responsibility for solving customer problems, ensures commitments
to customer are met, solicits opinions and ideas from customers,
responds to customers
Develop accurate and complete measurement testing plans and conduct
end?to?end testing of measures from end?user perspective.
Collect and analyze clinical data outcomes in order to develop and
support clinical process improvement initiatives, quality, and
patience safety.
Develops detailed documentation of measures and reports, including
definitions, specifications and technical requirements.
Gains understanding of technical design in addition to measure
specifications to support effective communication and management of
measure development.
MUST HAVE:
Minimum of two to five years analytic experience, preferably in
physician group/health care setting
Experience in writing and tuning T?SQL queries and in writing SQL
stored procedures
Experience working in the healthcare industry, with a focus on
medical claims and clinical data.
Established track record of quality improvement experience
including measure development and implementation. Proven ability to
manage projects to measure results
Strong background of data quality testing and data analysis
Successful process improvement and project management track
record
Proficiency in retrieving data via SQL queries
Ability to create reports in SQL
Knowledge of medical terminology, acronyms, and coding.
Skilled using data to effectively identify & implement process
improvement activities, including capabilities to effectively
produce needed trend and evaluation data, documentation of
opportunities for improvement and appropriate benchmark
comparisons
Highly organized with proven project management skills
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Ability to work effectively in integrated structure by establishing
effective work relationships with all departments and levels of
staff and customers
Ability and comfort level working with multiple data sources
Proven ability to manage multiple projects and measure results
Able to meet deadlines and prioritize workload
NICE TO HAVE:
Knowledge of measures and standards of national quality
organizations, including National Committee of Quality Assurance
(NCQA), health plan employer data and information set (HEDIS) and
National Quality Forum (NQF)
Experience with MS BI Stack (SSRS, SSAS, SSIS)
